  1. Cracks for the File Manager tools from WinAbility.Com, including:
  2.  
  3. * File Manager StepUp 3.42
  4. * File Manager Toolbar 2.29
  5. * File Manager Guard 2.13

  8. Installation (take a deep breath, the actual cracking is a small part of
  9. the normal installation procedure).
  10. =========================================================================

  12. First setup all tools by running all 3 setup.exe programs. Choose Install,
  13. type a name and when it asks for a directory name click Continue. If you
  14. want to install in another directory, type another one but make sure it
  15. already exists, otherwise it will fail to create one.
  16.  
  17. Now, copy the supplied cr_step.com file to the fmstepup directory,
  18. cr_tb.com to the fmtbar directory and cr_guard.com to the fmguard
  19. directory. Run all 3 com files.
  20.  
  21. Don't run your filemanager yet! Go to the fmguard directory and edit the
  22. fmguard.sys file with a text editor (this is normal procedure for
  23. installing File Manager Guard). Fill in the UserName and RegNum fields as
  24. decribed in \fmguard\manual.txt. I choose 8 chars for the RegNum field.
  25. After this, copy (don't move) this fmguard.sys file to your \windows\system
  26. directory.

  28. Now run your good old File Manager (are you sure you want to do this?).
  29. You will notice that your File Manager is now kinda 'locked'. This is
  30. because File Manager Guard is now activated.
  31. You will also notice 3 new menu items: StepUp, Guard and Toolbar. Now,
  32. choose the Stepup or Toolbar and choose Register...
  33.  
  34. Here you type any name (more than 6 chars) and any reg codes (somewhere
  35. about 8 digits). Click OK and then close Notepad and File Manager.

  37. If you start it again you will see (in the About boxes) that File Manager
  38. StepUp and File Manager Toolbar are now registered with name and reg codes.
  39. If you choose the About box of File Manager Guard you will see the name you
  40. typed in the two fmguard.sys files but with a different reg code. Now, edit
  41. both fmguard.sys files again and enter the number (after the # sign) from
  42. this About box in both fmguard.sys files in the RegNum fields. Close File
  43. Manager again, and finally start it up again. If you now click the About box
  44. of File Manager Guard you will now only see "Registered to:" with no name.
  45. This is good.

  47. In order to use File Manager Guard you must make yourself a password to be
  48. able to lock your File Manager for others. You do this by running the
  49. password.exe program. Here you can now type the UserName and RegNum (as
  50. entered in the fmguard.sys files) in the Registered to, resp. the
  51. Registration Code box. Choose yourself a nice New password (the one someone
  52. will have to type into the Disable box in th File Manager). The password.exe
  53. program will give you a password. Copy it to the clipboard and then paste it
  54. into the Password fields of BOTH fmguard.sys files.

  58. In case you want to totally uninstall these tools.

  64.    files and remove the 2 entries that look like this:

  75. 2. Remove all 3 directories where you installed the Fila Manager tools into

  83. 6. Remove Program Manager group and/or Start menu items
